24 - 28 February 2016 'SUCCESSFUL 1st EUWC training camp
in spala, poland'
The first EUWC Training camp in Spala, Poland finished with great success. The organization under the Polish WL Federation's president Szymon Kolecki (also former Olympic and World class athlete and EUWC Executive Board member) was superb. The Sport Center in Spala covers all needs for high class athletes and it was an honor to see and to experience 3 days in this atmosphere. 7 nations participated. The age groups U15, U17 and U20 were present. The daily program was well prepared by the Dutch EUWC Executive Board member Remco Eenink. The nations trained together in a big well equipped Olympic weightlifting training hall. 07:30 stretching for 30 minutes and then breakfast. From 10:00 -12:00 all youngsters had their daily first training session and from 16:00 - 18:00 again another session.
At 19:30 we had seminar topics for training methods, psychological aspects for youngsters and nutrition. The feedback was that such a program 2-3 times a year would be more than welcomed. Lots of different training methods have been observed among each other and in the gallery you can see great lifting from very young talented athletes.
